The Astrology of 2025 From the Half-Way Point. A Look Forward into a Very Different Year By Alison Chester-Lambert MA

Posted on 18th July, 2025

First of all, let’s get this year into perspective by looking for an astrologically comparable year. When was the last time that all the outer `heavy duty` planets were connected to each other, as if all attending the same tense assembly? Because that is what is happening this year, and as it that wasn’t enough they are all changing Zodiac Signs as well, it is quite exciting!

We’d have to go back to 1965, or before that, 1955. Both of these epochs introduced big, new, social changes to the western world. Among other things, 1965 witnessed the introduction of the right to vote for Black people in the USA. This act was crucial in the cultural transition towards equal opportunity for Black races. Great Britain led the West in a `Youthquake` fashion revolution symbolised by Mary Quant’s mini skirt and the geometric designs of ‘op-art’.

1955 saw the beginning of the Space Race and the children born in that year grew up with TV shows such as Fireball XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds. The highly imaginative and ambitious concepts in these productions, found an attentive audience as symbolised by the outer planets in the birth horoscopes of the 1955 babies. Many influential people such as Bill Gates (founder of Microsoft) and Steve Jobs (Apple) were both born during this year and whatever else can be said, they are visionary futurists.

Back to 2025 and let`s take a look at the planetary changes and liaisons this year. In order to get my head around it, let alone anyone else`s, I spent a day or so gathering the information together and setting it out in a calendar-style Word table which may, or may not, be useful!

Let`s start at the top with the year 2025 and the months in columns. The top four rows in colour show the date the important outer planets move backwards and forwards into different Zodiac Signs. Now bear in mind that these slow movers can be decades in the same Zodiac Sign, and you start to get the message that this year is different. All of them are on the move, or have been, but it won`t be until mid-2026 that the sailing back and forth will stop and they settle into their new Signs or environments.

And `new environment` is the right phrase, because this is exactly what this symbolises. Cultural, sociological and political evolutionary change is happening. Rapid technological growth has fuelled revolutionary pressures affecting national beliefs, opinions and cultural practices. For example, in the UK a brand-new political party has been born and has taken the number two position within two years of its birth. At the time of writing, Elon Musk is threatening something similar in the United States.

The last half of the above Word Table is sub-headed ASPECTS, and this means the relationship between the transpersonal planets – those that describe the structures, undercurrents and archetypes of humanity or civilisations. Briefly...

Uranus describes the revolutionary, free spirit of humanity. A sudden awakening or lightbulb moment of ingenuity, when we reach for the future and unrestricted discovery, including cutting edge science.

Neptune’s mission is to search for redemption. To search for a euphoric and ecstatic oblivion; to blend with the unconditional love of deity and encourage a passive, pining, submissive experience. It introduces longing and yearning for a soft, yielding encounter.

Pluto represents the never-ending cycle of Life. The ruling principle of birth and death which relentlessly purges and destroys to make way for improvement and new growth.

Now… these planets are not just changing their environment (Zodiac Signs) as we see in the top half of the table, they are communicating harmoniously with each other via the aspects in the bottom half of the table too… and it reads like this…

…our need for redemption (Neptune) is co-ordinating with humanity`s ingenuity and willpower (Uranus) and the cycle of life with Nature`s need for constant improvement through birth and death (Pluto).

When those aspects are viewed in a horoscope, (see below) they form an attractive pattern of facilitating, supportive energy.

Additionally, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto belong to the Feminine/Yin polarity, so indirect, long-term planning is at the heart of them. (The Feminine does long-term planning) And even though Uranus is a Masculine/Yang energy, as an Air planet, it also brings futuristic planning, as well as genius, to the table.

This is starting to sound quite positive right? Well, it could be. Unless some one is planning a war to end all wars in a very unified, harmonised way. (Okay, best not call that one in.)

Feminine energy can appear quite benign. If we think about the Biblical myth of the dark `formless and empty` Feminine waters, with the generative, life-giving force of the Masculine stirring it from above, we start to get the picture. However, beneath the surface of the water, gestation occurs and evolution is unstoppable.

So late 2025 appears to bring a period of evolutionary development. When the river of collective consciousness swings to a new direction. And it is not aimless, hurried or without long-term planning. There is cohesion in these planets and they could be symbolising a new and developing epoch of the Feminine. And I do mean that Feminine/Yin develops or evolves a new intelligence.

I have been talking about the Rise of the Feminine since 2020, so consideration of an intellectually evolving Feminine sounds about right to me. We have an asteroid called Pallas Athena which represents mental activity and repressed feminine intelligence. Athena actually conjuncted Pluto in Aquarius on 24th February this year and will conjoin again on 14th October. This cannot be a coincidence. Demetra George points out that the combination of Pluto and Athena “emphasises the power of ideas to transform reality.” Together, they create ideas “that will influence and transform”.

Pluto represents the quantum realm, where particles have multiple potentials until observation forces one potential to become our reality. Put simply, we can observe, or `reveal`, a potential into existence. The powerful combination of Athena and Pluto in Aquarius, supported by Uranus, Saturn and Neptune holds remarkable... potentials.

We might dicover a previously undetected `dark energy` network of plasma-like electrical force/energy. Remember the movie `Avatar`, where a biological neural network connects all life-forms and Nature? Such a `discovery` would fall under the astrological rulership of Aquarius, whilst the network itself is the evolving Feminine.

Babies born this year will carry this planetary generational marker, suggesting they will strain every sinew to live in a future of re-balanced attitudes to the intelligence of Nature and the Feminine in general.

Maybe a very good year after all!
